Tsawwassen is home to a variety of beautiful residential properties where high quality craftsmanship makes a significant difference. These bathroom renovation projects focused on elevating standard layouts into premium, modern spaces through technical tile work and expert finishing.

A Lasting Transformation

These projects in Tsawwassen demonstrate the impact of artisan level tile work. By focusing on clean transitions and sophisticated mitered joins, we created bathrooms that offer a timeless aesthetic and superior durability. These spaces now serve as functional retreats that add lasting value to the home.

We had the opportunity to provide custom tile work for a couple of new luxury homes on Bowen Island. These projects were focused on high level detail and specialized techniques that complement the high end architecture of the island.

Precision in the Details

For these residences, the focus was on clean lines and a sophisticated finish. Our team executed several technical installations, including:

• Small Format 4×4 Tiles: We installed classic 4×4 tiles with a focus on perfect alignment and symmetry. To achieve a high end look, we performed manual miter cuts on every corner, creating seamless edges without the need for transition strips.
• Natural Stone Installation: We integrated stone tiles into the design to bring an organic, grounded feel to the interior spaces.
• Mitered Edge Mastery: By grinding tile edges to a 45 degree angle for corner joins, we provided a clean, architectural finish that highlights the quality of the material.

Quality Over Quantity

Working on Bowen Island requires careful coordination and a focus on durability. By combining traditional stone work with modern cutting techniques, we ensured these homes feature surfaces that are as resilient as they are beautiful. These projects stand as a testament to the impact that precise, hand finished tile work can have on a luxury build.

We completed a series of targeted home improvements designed for durability and style. This project spanned several key areas, blending custom craftsmanship with practical modern updates.

Key Project Features

• School Tile Installation: A unique, custom project that adds personal character to the home’s design.
• Premium Floor Installation: High durability flooring laid through the entrance area and high traffic zones.
• Kitchen & Laundry Upgrades: We installed a sleek new kitchen backsplash and fully refreshed the laundry room for better utility.

Functional Design

Each update focuses on longevity. From the welcoming entrance to the hardworking laundry space, these renovations ensure the home is as beautiful as it is functional.

Upgrading multiple bathrooms at once is a powerful way to enhance both the daily experience and the long term value of a home. Our team recently completed a series of renovations that turned underutilized spaces into high functioning, beautiful retreats.

Overcoming Infrastructure Challenges

The primary goal was to bring modern luxury to areas that were never intended for plumbing or power. We managed every technical detail, including:

• Utility Integration: We successfully installed brand new plumbing lines and electrical systems from scratch.
• Smart Extensions: By extending into existing room cabinets and storage areas, we “found” the extra square footage needed for full bathroom layouts.
• Structural Flow: Each new space was carved out to feel like a natural part of the home’s original design.

Style Meets Functionality

To keep these new bathrooms feeling open and airy, we focused on space saving solutions. The standout feature across these projects was the installation of custom barn doors.

These doors eliminate the “door swing” problem common in tighter layouts, allowing for more vanity space and easier movement. They also add a sophisticated, modern touch that ties the different rooms together.

The Result

By reclaiming storage space and installing entirely new utilities, we have transformed the functionality of the home. These bathrooms now offer modern comfort, high end finishes, and a seamless blend of style and efficiency.

Renovating an older home often feels like a puzzle, especially when you want to add modern conveniences to spaces that were not originally designed for them. One of the most ambitious yet rewarding projects is adding a bathroom to a top floor that lacks existing plumbing and electricity.

If you’ve recently tackled this by extending a pantry area and incorporating stylish barn doors, you’ve mastered the art of the “hidden” renovation. Here is an overview of how this transformation works and why it is a game changer for historic homes.

The Challenge: Starting from Scratch

In older homes, the top floor was often reserved for sleeping or storage, meaning the “wet wall” (where pipes live) is usually far away. Adding a bathroom here requires two main technical hurdles:

1. Running New Lines: Since there is no existing plumbing, installers usually have to run new supply and waste lines through the walls or floors of the lower levels.
2. Powering Up: Bringing electricity to a dead zone involves fishing wires through old lath and plaster walls to provide code compliant lighting and outlets.

The Creative Pivot: Extending the Pantry

One of the smartest ways to find space for a new bathroom is by reclaiming underutilized areas. By extending a pantry room or utilizing deep cabinet space from adjacent rooms, you can create a functional footprint without moving structural walls.

• Space Optimization: Using existing cabinetry areas allows for built in storage within the new bathroom.
• Seamless Flow: Extending an existing room helps the new addition feel like an original part of the house rather than a cramped afterthought.

The Finishing Touch: Barn Doors

When space is tight — as it often is on top floors — standard swing doors can be a nuisance. Barn doors are the perfect solution for this specific renovation for several reasons:

• Zero Footprint: Because they slide along a track, they do not require “swing space,” making the hallway and the bathroom feel much larger.
• Aesthetic Appeal: In an old house, a wooden barn door bridges the gap between historic charm and modern farmhouse style.
• Ease of Installation: They are often easier to install in non standard door frames that may have shifted over the decades.
